History of A-1 Cleaning
Wayne Lustberg Senior
Wayne Senior started out working as a custodian for another cleaning company in the late 70’s. He started the family-owned company back in 1984 when he set up his his own cleaning company after receiving his first contract for a local grocery store. He used his mother’s vacuum, and her cleaning chemicals from her house to clean the store. He then signed on his second contract with an international shipping company with who we still do business with to this day, and we still have the contract valid as it was written on a typewriter. Fast forward 38 years later Wayne Senior owns multiple different service companies, has bought, and sold multiple different businesses and real estate throughout the tri-state employing hundreds of staff and cleaning millions of square ft.
Wayne Lustberg Jr
Wayne started in the family business in 2014. In 2010 he graduated from Johnson and Wales University with an entrepreneurship and finance degree. Wayne’s role at A-1 Cleaning is quality control overseeing the day-to-day operations from opening sale to contract management and everything between. Wayne attributes much of A-1 Cleanings’ success to the implementation of technology/processes and hiring of individuals that share our core values.
Frank Lustberg
Frank joined the family business in 2016. He is a Johnson and Wales University graduate in 2012 he won the faculty entrepreneurship award and in 2013 he then graduated a year early with a degree in entrepreneurship and finance. Frank’s role at A-1 Cleaning is overseeing all of the different service departments and ensuring employee and customer satisfaction. He is a part of the BSCAI as well as many other industry-related organizations. Frank has personally attributed to the growth of A-1 Cleaning and has turned their small private regional cleaning business into a company with currently hundreds of employees across multiple states. Frank attributes the company’s growth to the inverted pyramid of putting employees first.
